    Lorry Loader (Hiab) CPC Course

    (Practical & Classroom Based)

     

    Course Aims - to train or refresh operators in the safe and efficient use of lorry loaders. Grab, Hook & Remote Control.

    Lift Truck Training CPC Course

    (Practical & Classroom Based)

     

    Course Aims - to train or refresh operators in the safe and efficient use of Fork Lift Trucks.

           Level 2  Emergency First Aid at Work (PCV & LGV)

          (Practical & Classroom based)

 

This course is recommended for ALL Company drivers and First Aid Staff. From March 2014 this course will run almost weekly.

 

You will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to deal with an Emergency until the arrival of professional medical assistance.

 For groups of between 6 and 12, we can come to you if you have a suitable venue. Group charge £450 plus upload fees to DSA, currently £8.75 per person.

             Driver CPC Courses

         (Classroom Based)
 
Course Aims - To improve drivers skills and knowledge of essential legal duties and vocational information. Please choose 2 of the 6 modules to make up your one day, 7 hour course. 
 
 #1 - Fuel Efficient Driving (PCV & LGV) Benefits both the operator and the driver, if the driver can reduce company fuel use and his own travel to work costs then everybody is a winner!
 
 #2 - Manual Handling and Health & Safety at work (PCV & LGV)We refresh/retain drivers to lift and lower correctly; they will also gain an understanding of personal risk assessment, accidents in the workplace as well as Banksman Training.
 
 #3Graduated Fixed Penalties and Hazard Awareness on the Road (PCV & LGV) -Drivers are given an understanding of their responsibilities and what they should do if they are given a road side penalty. This session also covers Hazard awareness and spatial awareness. 
 
 #4 - Drivers Hours Rules & Working Time Directive (PCV & LGV) -This course keeps the drivers refreshed on their legal duty and rest times. We pay particular attention to the 6 and 9 hour break requirements of the Working Time Regulations and how best, operationally, to apply the regulations without infringement.
 

 #5 – Correct Use of Tachographs (PCV & LGV) - Analogue Tachographs will be with us for some time yet so we refresh drivers in the correct use of modes, manual entries, change of vehicles and how to complete them accurately. Digital Tachographs are still new to some drivers and they need full instruction in correct use, manual entries, and local time changing. We use a simulator to show how simple the controls are to use.

 

 #6 – Customer Service in the Transport Industry (PCV & LGV) - Drivers are most often the only personal contact a company has with its customers. We guide the drivers through how best to deliver good customer service and how to deal with problems should they arise.

 #9 - The Professional Driver Part 2 (PCV & LGV) - Content includes the effects of Alcohol & Drugs on the driver, Distractions by mobile 'phone.

 

 #10 - Bridge Strikes (PCV & LGV) - Facts, figures, pictures and advice on route planning, checking vehicle height and how to avoid costly bridge strikes

 #11 - ReducingRoad Risk (PCV & LGV) - Highway Code, Insurance, Mobile 'phones, Fatigue

 

Total cost per 7 hour course - £75/£85 per person, which includes DSA upload, course material, course attendance certificate and refreshments.
